Hollywood has made a lot of movies about robots, such as I, Robot, Robocop, The Terminator and Transformers. Even though most of these robots are eco-friendly because they don’t need batteries or use energy to operate, they’re definitely not human-friendly.
But Sega Toys has come up with its own robotic creation that is both guy-friendly and definitely more eco-friendly than any real girl, and her name is Eternal Maiden Actualization (E.M.A. for short).
This 15-inch tall female robot can sing, dance and walk like a lady, but the best thing about her is that she kisses on command!
I’m not making this up.
We’ve all seen the obnoxiously expensive homes of Tommy Lee, Master P, Mariah Carey and more on MTV’s show Cribs. Some of the homes’ garages and backyards are even nicer than an average person’s entire house!
But even though these homes are amazingly nice, they are also damaging to the environment because they consume way too much energy, construction material and water.
Some of these homes have up to 20 bedrooms, as well as a lavish swimming pool complete with waterfalls and a hot tub, so it makes me think that many a celebrity’s obsession with excessiveness is going to be a large factor in draining the planet of its natural resources.
Of course it would be nice to have a huge house, but wouldn’t it be better to have an all-natural tree house?
Could you imagine how much money celebrities could give to charities and disaster relief organizations if they lived life simply in a tree house?
There are actually many people out there who design modernized tree houses that look amazing. The houses are made with sustainable material and often use solar panels to harness energy.
Here are some actual tree houses I discovered that would be perfect abodes for anyone, including celebrities (click on the pictures for more info):

Hannes Broecke, a German artist, figured out how to create works of art that people could not only consume with their eyes, but also with their mouths!
These hanging, flat glass containers hold a variety of colorful cocktails. As people look at the art, they can can also drink from it using glasses provided by the gallery.
Iron Chef America is a great spin-off of the original Iron Chef show that was “cooked up” in Japan.
This past January Chicago Chef Homaru Cantu dethroned Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, gaining respect from his fellow food connoisseurs and widespread acclaim from followers of the show.
But did you know that Chef Cantu also cares about the environment? Well he does, and so much in fact that to reduce waste he created “edible menus” for his restaurant. They even come with dipping sauce!
Here’s a picture:
Here are a few “interesting” pictures from kiroTV.com’s “Weirdest Headlines Photos” slideshow and the revamped eco-headlines I wrote for them. (The pictures are real. The headlines probably aren’t.)
This two-headed turtle may be cute, but could you imagine what toxic water pollution like this would do to an alligator?
The truth behind the tomato scare. It wasn’t salmonella, it was hairspray and Suave shampoo.
Now I’ve seen some unique eco-inspired clothing in my time, such as Bjork’s swan thingamajig that she wore to the 2001 Oscars to represent her homeland of Iceland, and Eva Longoria dressed as a peacock to…dress like a peacock, but I must say that I’ve truly seen green when I came across the new Japanese solar- powered bra!
Would you ever pay $140 for a pedicure? Well, apparently celebrities like Naomi Campbell and Gwyneth Paltrow do. They get their feet glamorized by pedicurist Bastien Gonzalez, who makes quite a killing on his pedicures/massages.
Well, for less than half that amount you could get an eco-pedicure – literally – from Yvonne Hair and Nails salon in Alexandria, Virginia.
So what’s so eco about this salon? Instead of using sharp razors to scrape away the dead skin on your feet, the pedicurists use tiny carp!
If you’re a rich celebrity, you recently won a million dollars on a game show or you found a winning lottery ticket in the
trash, you might not be too worried about the high cost of fuel today.
But many of us average people are getting hit hard by gas prices. And some of us are going are going to extremes to get free or reduced gas.
I recently read an article on Yahoo! News that mentioned a few things that people are doing for free gas:
Yes people, there is a new jacket on the market that is designed specifically for use with the iPod.
Now you would think that it looks like any snowboarding jacket, with its hundreds of hidden pockets and trendy design, but what makes this jacket different is that it has an iPod keypad controlled on its sleeves!
Take a look:
And with a low price of $109.40 it’s totally affordable for everyone. Okay, maybe not for everyone, but obviously anyone who’s cool enough to own an iPod.
Now I agree that this jacket is somewhat creative, but seriously, does one really need a keypad on his or her arm?
And just how eco-friendly is this jacket? I doubt that it’s made from organic cotton, and it doesn’t look like it’s made from recycled products (which would have been extra cool).
I just think I would rather spend my $109.40 on a cooler jacket, like this one:
You wouldn’t need an iPod to get down to the ground in this jacket!
Nowadays gas costs an arm and a leg and crime is running rampant. I think that criminals are even beginning to do their “business” close to home so they can just walk there and avoid buying gas.
Paying less for fuel and reducing crime is at the top of everyone’s list, so one way that local authorities in Tacoma, Washington are addressing these problems is by offering free $250 gas cards to anyone with information that could lead to an arrest of a wanted criminal. That’s in addition to a reward, which can reach up to $1,000.
Here’s the Crime Stoppers website where you can find the list of criminals.
What a great idea! There’s no better feeling in the world knowing that you put a criminal behind bars and used the money you saved on not buying gas for overpriced groceries instead!
What will happen to the future of cinematic pop culture once airlines take away in-flight movies? Well, I guess that will force more people to read a book, go to sleep or listen to their iPods.
US Airways stated that it will stop offering in-flight movies on domestic flights this fall to cut expenses. This is mainly due to the already expensive cost of fuel.
Apparently nontheatrical distribution to airlines accounts for more than 80% of the total $25 million or more in revenue that each studio makes per year.
