If you’ve never heard of the band Cake, then you’re missing out on some truly classic music.
Some of my favorite Cake songs include:
- The Distance
- I Will Survive (the Gloria Gaynor remake…with spunk)
- Short Skirt, Long Jacket
- Italian Leather Sofa
- Sheep Go to Heaven, Goats Go to Hell
Not only does the band have great songs, but they also follow great green initiatives.
They recently hired the Borrego Solar company to install solar panels on their recording studio in Sacramento.
This will provide 100% solar energy for their next album.

Cake is great. They also do a great version of War Pigs.

I haven’t listened to much Ween, but old school Weezer, Wilco and Violent Femmes completely rock my socks off! And talk about old school, I recently listened to Wheatus’ “Teenage Dirtbag.” What a great song
