A Presidential Pardon for a Puppy!

Posted: December 3, 2008 – 9:51 am

Everyone knows that soon-to-be President Barack Obama is looking to add a puppy to his family. The puppy might just add a little ray of sunshine to the gloomy job of economic restoration that Obama faces in the next 4 years to come.

Watch Obama endorse pet adoption:

The only drawback of puppy adoption for Obama is that he thinks dogs from shelters might not be the best bet for his daughter’s allergies.

Prince Charles and His Vision for the World’s Rainforests

Posted: November 6, 2008 – 2:53 pm

Prince Charles has an idea: He thinks that rich countries should pay annual “bills” to stop destruction of the rainforest.  This would eventually create a market for “rainforest bonds” that would help with the protection of the natural habitat.

Another idea: Poor nations should be paid NOT to cut down trees as a way to reduce their pollution.

The Prince says, “These emergency funds could be provided directly by developed world Governments, perhaps from expanded development aid budgets, from surcharges on activities which cause climate change or from the auction of carbon market emission allowances.”

But some environmentalists think this will cause corruption in developing countries.

What do you think?

I think this idea should proceed with a hefty donation from the Prince himself.

Here’s the entire article.

I McCain’t Believe That Today I Baracked the Vote!

Posted: November 4, 2008 – 10:01 am

Did you vote today? I did, and I’m glad I went early because the lines were pretty long. Plus, it started raining about an hour after I left.

I hope that you will take some time today to vote for whichever candidate has the values and vision for the future that you support.

Since this is a green website I’d like to offer you a look at two articles I wrote on Green Student U about the Energy and Climate Change Initiatives of both candidates.

After reading them you just might make a final decision:

Green Politics: Obama’s Energy/Climate Change Plan

Green Politics: McCain’s Climate Change Initiatives

So get out today and Barack the Vote!

*I’d like to give my friend Dustin Muniz credit for the “McCain’t” term. He is quite a clever guy!*

Palin’s Ad Doesn’t Cry Wolf, It Makes the Wolves Cry

Posted: October 19, 2008 – 10:46 am

To reiterate the message from my post Sarah Palin’s Office is Dedicated to Protecting Animals…or Not, check out this YouTube video that was sent to me from a friend on the Care2 network. It shows Palin’s stance on aerial wolf hunting:

If we want someone in office who truly cares about the environment and all of its living creatures, maybe we should not support someone who wants to im-Palin them with a stake through the heart!

Sarah Palin’s Office is Dedicated to Protecting Animals…or Not.

Reading The New York Times I recently came across this picture of Sarah Palin sitting in her office in Anchorage, Alaska.

I must say I was surprised to see her choice of decor…but then again she is a member of the NRA.

Racial Rants About Obama Get VA Republican Chair Fired

Posted: October 9, 2008 – 9:18 am

I was raised in Virginia, so when I saw this article I was appauled at what Bobby May, a Republican party campaign chair from Buchanan County, said about Barack Obama in a local newspaper.

Here are just a few of May’s racist rants about what Obama would do if elected President:

On Third-World Countries:

“Raise taxes to send $845 billion, most of it to Africa so the Obama family there can skim off enough for them to free their goats and live the American Dream.”

On Drugs:

“Raise taxes to pay for free drugs for Obama’s inner-city political base.”

Obama or McCain: Who Has the Better Energy Plan Proposal?

Posted: October 5, 2008 – 1:11 pm

I recently stumbled upon a fascinating video on YouTube that describes the threatening impact of climate change on the environment.

It also shows how we got into our recent oil crisis, but also gives us hope that we can choose the right Presidential candidate who will “break us out of our deadly oil habit.”

Take a look:

In Search of Alternative Forms of Miley Cyrus…

Posted: July 2, 2008 – 11:27 am

We are in desperate need of alternative energy sources to protect our environment’s natural resources, but according to this video from The Onion, we are also distressed over alternative forms of energy from teeny boppers other than Miley Cyrus to protect the lucrative entertainment industry.

Here’s the tragic news:
