Hanging Art That You Can Drink

Hannes Broecke, a German artist, figured out how to create works of art that people could not only consume with their eyes, but also with their mouths!

These hanging, flat glass containers hold a variety of colorful cocktails. As people look at the art, they can can also drink from it using glasses provided by the gallery.

So how is this eco-friendly?

  • Less material consumption than building a bar or drink stand (but more alcohol consumption that can make you stand on bars)
  • No plastic cups to throw away (just buzzed patrons you need to throw out of the gallery)
  • Reusable and refillable (and much more fun to refill than your gas tank)

I’m not sure how I feel about this invention. Is this really art, or is this some clever way to get people intoxicated enough to think that it’s real art?

Either way, it will probably be “hanging” around for a long time.
