How to Help the Environment and Humanitarian Efforts When You’re Poor.

Most environmental and humanitarian efforts ask for dollar donations to help with their efforts, but if you’re like me and don’t have any extra money, you may feel like you can’t make a difference.

But I actually found a few great sites that will donate food, money and other valuables to their efforts just by making a few clicks on the computer. Here are my favorites:

Free Rice is an online quiz that lets you strengthen your English vocabulary. For every correct defintion that you pick 20 grains of rice will be donated to the United Nations World Food Program.

The Clean Water Challenge is an online challenge where you answer questions pertaining to drinking water standards. For every correct answer the American Chemistry Council will donate money to West African countries to purchase chlorine tablets for disinfecting drinking water.

Care2 Click to Donate does everything from offsetting carbon emissions and saving baby seals to fighting breast cancer and ending violence against women.

See, it doesn’t take a lot of money to help with global outreach efforts. It just takes a computer and a heart.
