We live in a country where we have access to clean drinking water 24 hours a day, but did you know that
over 1 billion people do not even have access to a simple water supply system?
Many of these people come form developing countries like Africa, and that is why we need to help them get the clean water that they need for food and bathing, as well as for preventing the spread of diseases.
Take a look at this amazing PlayPump System, which literally allows children to play while clean water is pumped from the ground:
Kind of makes you appreciate the little things in life, huh?

Thanks for what you are doing here!
What you say is completely true: it’s so easy to take clean drinking water for granted. It was 100 years ago that we started chlorinating our water supply in the U.S., city by city. Now waterborne diseases are a thing of the distant past– for us. I do some work with the American Chemistry Council; they’re also working to bring clean water to places that don’t have it. Another way to help is just to take the free quiz on the site I listed as my homepage– for each correct response, the ACC donates toward clean water in a West African village.
