If you’re a rich celebrity, you recently won a million dollars on a game show or you found a winning lottery ticket in the trash, you might not be too worried about the high cost of fuel today.

But many of us average people are getting hit hard by gas prices. And some of us are going are going to extremes to get free or reduced gas.

I recently read an article on Yahoo! News that mentioned a few things that people are doing for free gas:

• To win a $100 gas card, a Florida man pledged to name his son after local radio hosts. The son’s unfortunate name: Dixon Willoughby Partin.
• Clients at the Shady Lady Ranch brothel in Nevada who spend $300 will receive a $50 gas voucher.
• Thieves in Texas are robbing church busses of their fuel.
• People who give blood to the American Red Cross are entered to win free gas for a year.
• A weekly mass in Massachusetts offers drawings for a $50 gas card.

It’s amazing what people and organizations will do to promote their product or mission. The website FreeGasHelp.com apparently offers free gas to vehicle owners if they promote a business partner on their car. I’m not sure if this is legit or not.

And for those of you who don’t mind getting involved in criminal-like activities, here’s another creative way to get free gas:

I hope that people don’t have to resort to the above to get their gas. It’s funny, but just not right.

Al Gore needs to step up his global warming campaign and find a way to get the future president started on funding for alternative fuel sources.
