Why Amy Winehouse Should Be an Eco-Spokesperson

Even though Amy Winehouse clearly expressed in her pop hit, “They tried to make me go to rehab, I said no, no, no,” she eventually did last January to combat her drug and alcohol addiction.

I’m glad she at least tried to get help for her personal problems because that girl can sing like no other. Her raspy voice is reminiscent of old school Motown lady legends, and her signature beehive hairstyle looks like it can outwit and outlast anybody on Survivor.

That’s why it’s disappointing to see her hospitalized after fainting and almost falling down a flight of stairs! Her father admitted that her 2-week stay in rehab a few months ago was a failure, which might have something to do with the fainting spell.

The result: now she’s visited twice a day by a nurse to make sure that she is okay.

So, you may to ask me, “How in the world could this lady be an eco-spokesperson?”

First of all, I think that she is the perfect candidate to represent how smoking (a variety of things) can cause both air pollution and health hazards.

Also, her zany style of dress could be likened to that of a thrift store junkie, and thrift stores are great because they’re a way of recycling clothes that would otherwise be thrown away in our already overcrowded landfills.

And her hair….oh that hair. It looks like it could be a wildlife habitat for a group of small endangered species.

In my opinion, I think Amy could benefit her fans, her health and the environment by doing these things as a method of rehabilitation:

1) Must visit local high schools and warn kids about the dangers of smoking, drug use and alcohol abuse. All three are harmful to the environment because they either directly pollute the air or contribute to land pollution, or they indirectly cause us to lose our inhibitions and then crash our cars into trees…. which physically damages the oxygen-circulating plants that keep our air clean.

2) Create a few commercials about the importance of supporting your local thrift stores. This should be done for at least the Goodwill and the Salvation Army, both of which donate proceeds to valuable non-profit charities, many that protect the environment.

3) Use some of the money she earned from her Back to Black album to build beehive-like natural habitats modeled after her hairstyle. Wherever most of the world’s deforestation is occurring and wildlife homes are being destroyed, she has to go out into the wild and give these organic beehive homes to homeless creatures.

See Amy, even though you have a loser boyfriend and your stardom is being interrupted by your stints in rehab, you can turn your life around by joining the green movement
